Our program offers a variety of activities that you can engage in according to your interests and qualifications. You will be able to experience first-hand and learn about the lifestyle at the fishermen’s village. Moreover, your efforts will help protect and/or revive the nature in the area. The area where you will be living in during the duration of the project receives hardly any tourism and its beaches remain unspoiled. Our projects are as follows: BLUE CRAB CONSERVATION: The Blue Crab lives in small waterways, creeks and rivers that connect to the sea. Due to overfishing, these creatures have become endangered and in order to help stop this, you will be in charge of helping collect and split eggs and later on releasing the newborns into nature. CORAL REEF REHABILITATION: Due to incorrect fishing methods (i.e. large deep sea nets at the bottom of the ocean), a large number of fish species has been depleted and coral reefs have been destroyed. For some time now, these fishing methods have been prohibited but the damage on the coral reefs has been done. In order to help with the recovery, divers place dead corals casted in concrete at least 4 meters deep into the sea. Some months after the dead corals are placed in the ocean, polyps begin living in them and create an environment that brings life back to the corals as well as different fish species. And this is where you come in. During your time here, you will prepare the blocs with corals in it and bring them to the sea and into shallow waters. Those with a diving certificate can go in deep and update us on the progress of the ones placed deep into the ocean. This project will be unavailable during rainy season (October – December). MANGROVE TREE PLANTING: You will be going out with the locals to plant mangrove trees in the water. For a long time, the whole coast has been covered with mangrove forests. In recent years, however, deforestation has occurred and they are no longer as spread out as they used to be. Your efforts to replant young trees will have a positive impact for the flora and fauna in the area. ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS TEACHING: Aside from the practical work in the village, it is also important to create awareness about the issues that are presented in the area and how to stop further damage. With the help of village leaders and local teachers, you will be teaching local school kids how to lead an environmentally friendly life through activities such as: – Beach cleaning – Garbage separation – Teaching of basic environmental science Our aims are to support the local community with their projects to promote a sustainable livelihood and to promote understanding and care towards nature among the youngsters in the village through teaching and different fun activities.

You will be accommodated in a tiny one-room house amidsts palm trees and gorgeous surroundings. The house is quite isolated and is part of a homestay in the huge garden of the main house, so it is a great option for those looking to relax a bit. The accommodation is located 500 meters away from the beach. There is no wifi at the accommodation but we do have it available in the main area, which is located next to the beach with comfy chairs to sit on. You will be served three delicious Thai-style meals a day. These will be cooked on site in the common area in front of the beach. In case you are vegetarian, make sure to let the cooks know and they will happily make sure to prepare your food meatless.

You will be living in a small seaside village with a population of around 200 people. The village remains authentic and astray from tourism-ridden Thailand. Facilities This village remains untouched by big brands and everything you will find here is owned by the villagers. There are a few local shops where you will find anything you might need. There is also a stand at the beach where you can buy refreshing drinks during hot days! Activities &Events There are no activities planned. However, sometimes there is the option to go snorkelling free of charge for a day if a group comes. Please keep in mind that this depends on conditions that are out of our reach and it is not guaranteed. Sights &Surroundings The distance from our housing to the beach is of only 500 meters and our project sites are located no more than two kilometers away. You will be reaching them via different modes of transportation including walking, cycling and on sea boats

No special requirements are needed, however, there is a possibility for added value for those who have diving certificates or are willing to get one on site at an extra cost (coral reef project). Additional equipment: No additional equipment required but, for those who are experienced divers, it is possible to bring or rent diving equipment. Open all year, starting on Mondays, arrival on Saturdays or Sundays and departure on Saturday morning, participation fee 175€ per week. Program runs Mon-Fri, (free weekends). Culture week mandatory: 175€ to start the programme. Reception at the airport at the arrival. BKK (Suvarnabhumi International Airport): Great, we can pick you up from there.
