TRAVAIL

The hospital where you will be working aims to offer affordable health treatment to the inhabitants of Samraong. Unfortunately, the hospital is inundated with patients who don’t get assistance due to a shortage of staff. At this project, you will be able to transfer their pre-existing medical knowledge and help deter the problem the understaffed hospital faces. Furthermore, they will be able to absorb new knowledge, information and experience from the existing medical staff at the hospital whilst working abroad. A variety of options are available for participants on this medical placement. Depending on your level of skills and experience, we will find the correct role for you in which we can fully optimize your abilities and allow you to contribute as much as possible to the hospital. We are able to offer experienced participants with daily roles as nurses and doctors. You will begin by observing and monitoring hospital practices and carrying out daily tasks around the hospital, helping out where needed. After this, you will progress to a more "hands on" role at the hospital. In accordance with Cambodian law, this program will always supervised by a registered doctor. Hospital specifics: – Bed capacity of 120 beds – Staff: 15 doctors, 36 nurses and 2 midwives – A maternity ward – This hospital is known as a level 2 hospital. We call it “CPA 2”, which means: Completed Package Activity 2. Some diseases can’t be treated here so they need to transfer these patients to other hospitals that are on level 3. – Only emergency operations happen here, such as: Appendectomy and Cesarean Section. – A free HIV testing facility was recently added – There are some kinds of diseases/cases that requires patients to be transferred to other hospitals. For example: cancer, diabetes, meningitis, and serious traffic accidents. The hospital aims to offer affordable health treatment to the inhabitants of Samraong. Unfortunately, the hospital remains understaffed and our task is to bring in participants with a medical background who can lend a hand.
