Yoga is derived from the Sanskrit word "Yog" which means Union thus yoga means union of mind and body. There is more to yoga than physical exercises, learn about different paths of yoga, do’s and don’ts, postures, breathing techniques and mediation to free you from stress, anxiety and physical aliments. During this week, practice and learn from our experts in healing techniques of Yoga &Meditation to have a healthy body and a sound mind. Meditation is the art of focusing your mind, restraining your thoughts and looking deep into yourself. Practising it can give you a better understanding of your purpose in life and of the divine, as well as provide you with certain physical and mental health benefits. Whatever your experience at yoga and meditation, Lovina has so much to offer, from learning some basic yoga and meditation to relax body mind and body to courses for more experienced practitioners. Whilst you can sandwich in a session or two into one of our programs, and if that is all time permits, then fine but ideally, if you can, please experience one of our Yoga and Meditation weeks, you will be pleased that you did. Many people travel the world to be here as they believe that Bali is a unique place for reflection and contemplation, and we would totally agree with them. You have the time to take this extra Yoga and Meditation week, do it, what you learn in the week you may take away from Bali and practice for the rest of your days. The physical and mental benefits received from this program are enormous if practiced in daily life. In general, practice of yoga, meditation and Spa will help bring down stress, relives physical ailments, boosts physical strength, stamina and flexibility, boosts impulse control, and bestows great skill in concentration and self control. They also enhance mental clarity, and boosts the functioning of the immune system while improving overall blood circulation and results in healthy glowing skin and in making you feel younger. Meditation itself will help infuse a sense of balance and help bestow peace of mind, and a more positive and peaceful outlook on life. Balinese Yoga is a one of the most famous activities on the island. Bali has rightly been identified by many travelers around the world as a unique place for reflection and contemplation. This enchanting environment empowers an ambiance within which you can experience true tranquility. The yoga principle stretches further than just physical exercises. During this week, participants will practice this balance and learn from our experts in healing techniques of yoga and meditation to have a healthy body and mind. Volunteers will be accommodated in one of Green Lions’ volunteer houses in the village of Tukadmunga. Located on the street leading to the beach 5 minute by walk. Village life is quintessentially local and you will get a good chance to see typical Balinese life – roosters crowing and all! where you will get the chance to interact with local families and practice your new-found language skills. Volunteers can expect to share a room (dormitory style) with four to eight other volunteers. The bathroom is shared, with a hot water shower and western toilets. For couples or those wanting more privacy, there are upgrade accommodation available for an additional cost per week. Please contact us in advance to check for the possibility for that program period. There are an option of accommodation upgrade: Private room (private bathroom). Indonesian food is tasty and diverse and volunteers can expect to experience a myriad of flavors and meals during their stay. Typical dishes included mie goreng (fried noodles and vegetables), nasi goreng (fried rice and vegetables) or gado gado (mixed vegetables with a satay sauce). For those who do not eat meat, Indonesian cooking uses a lot of tofu and tempeh (soy beans), we also provide for some of western dishes. Breakfasts are varied and include pancakes, fresh fruit, toast etc. Tea, coffee and purified water is available at the volunteer house. We do not recommend that you drink the tap water. We provide for 3 meals during weekday (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and 2 meals during the weekend (breakfast, dinner).
Our volunteer houses are located in Tukadmungga village and it will take about 10-15 minute to Lovina center. There are several cafés and beaches in the village which volunteers can relax and hang out after their program ends. – ATM’s: There are many ATM’s in Lovina center which is about a 5 minute drive from the house. – Internet use: We have Wi-Fi at the house. – Personal Sim card for your mobile: You can buy at the local shop. There are good grocery stores in Singaraja city with 15 minute drive, 24 hour stores and plentiful small, family run shops where you will be able to find everything that you need from toiletries, to drinks, to sanitary and other personal items you require. If you want to eat out occasionally, there is a wide selection of restaurants with high standards of International and local cuisine. Please note, prices in tourist restaurants often include 5% service charge and 10% tax – additional tipping is appreciated but not necessary. There are several swimming pools nearby the house center that you can use. The entrance at swimming pool costs about 3USD, swimming pools take about 15 minute by taxi from our center. Since the weekends are free, you are able to go wherever you would like to go. Several popular destinations are The Gili Islands, Nusa Lembongan, Ubud, Sanur, Kuta and Uluwatu. These are all easy to reach by taxi.
