As part of this unique Nepalese experience you will work with local communities in orphanages and teaching volunteering projects. You will visit really interesting places, such as the Bouddhanath Buddhist temple and the vast Royal Chitwan National Park. Enjoy a rafting adventure down the Trisuli River, a village hike in rural Kathmandu, a rewarding 5 day trek up Poon Hill from which you will see some of the most breath taking mountain ranges in the world, body and mind sessions with Yoga and Meditation –Not to mention visits to the local markets and some great cultural introduction sessions. Come to Nepal for an active, unforgettable experience which will stay with you forever. 1ST WEEK: Katmandu Introduction – 2ND WEEK: Royal Chitwan National park and Pokhara – 3RD WEEK: Trekking- Annapurna – 4TH WEEK: Volunteering in Kathmandu: – Teaching in Local Schools: Teach at the small local village schools and foster good relationships with the children as you assist with extra-curricular activities and inspire them to achieve their full potential and broaden their perspectives through your creatively structured lessons. – Orphanage programs: Help out at some of Nepal?s severely run-down orphanages which are in desperate need of keen volunteers. Inspire the children through a freely orchestrated lesson structure and indulge them in extra-curricular activities. – Medical program: Shadow a professional and potentially receive the opportunity to assist directly at some of Nepal?s community and government-owned health centers and hospitals. Please not that these are only available for individuals with medical backgrounds unless arranged with advanced notice in accordance with the Green Lion. – Teaching in Buddhist Monasteries: Teach basic English to the monks, both young and old and receive the chance to learn more about the Buddhist culture and religion as you stay with the monks at their monastery for the duration of the project. – Renovation projects: Help local communities by building infrastructure alongside local people and other international volunteers. – Organic Farm/Community development: Work alongside local people on an Organic Farm as part of this authentic experience during which you will stay with a local family.
Accommodation in kathmandu:All accommodation is included during your stay on our program within the schedules/ itineraries provided. Your stay will be comfortable, clean and secure with basic modern amenities. Our centres have 8 bedrooms which hold up to 3 to 4 people sharing one room and 7 people in the dorm. They have modern bathrooms; a modern kitchen and dining room; a fully furnished living room; live-in staff on call 24/7; a garden complete with a comfortable, designated area for smoking and 24/7 security. Single rooms are available if booked in advance and at extra cost. Other amenities available at the centre are a TV with SKY, DVD player and wifi internet. Outside of kathmandu, the participants will stay overnight in local Tea – Houses along the trail. All accommodation is included during your stay on our program within the schedules/ itineraries provided. Your stay will be comfortable, clean and secure with basic modern amenities. There is no Wi-Fi. The rooms at the guesthouses will accommodate 2 to 4 people on sharing basis, single gender. Single rooms are available if booked in advance and at extra cost. Meals will be provided three times a day during the week and twice during the weekend (breakfast and lunch combine to become brunch during the weekend). Food served will be vegetarian food with meat served once a week. Weekends are free to relax, and to explore the local area.
– There are many ATM?s near the Kathmandu House centre which is about a 5 to 10 minutes from the house. – Local supermarket is a 5 minute walk from our centre in Kathmandu. – Personal SIM card for your mobile: You can buy at the local shop. Outside Kathmandu: – There are no ATM?s near by. Enough money can be withdrawn at Kathmandu or Pokhara – Local supermarket – Pokhara – Personal SIM card for your mobile: You can buy at the local shop in Kathmandu or Pokhara. – Solar power avabilable at guest houes to charge your phones and cameras or any other electronic devices.
