Aim: To provide education to over 120 students, half of which are disabled, to assist the integration of disabled students into the regular education system, and to provide special therapy for the disabled children. The project focuses on education and rehabilitation, but also provides medical services and family therapy. The classes are split into groups based on age (2-12 year olds). In each class there are six to fourteen children, one to four of who are disabled. Apart from that there are three areas especially dedicated to disabled children. In all classes the volunteer serves as a teaching assistant but depending on the age of the students the tasks vary. With the younger children you will help teach, change diapers, bring them to bed, help them eat, etc. With older children you are helping with arts and crafts and their homework. You will always work with another teacher. In the areas with only disabled children, you have to change diapers, go to the toilet with them, feed them, and help with their activities (therapy, arts and crafts, etc).
