It is a municipality of the industrial department Cortés. The majority of the population is Catholics, but there are also many families that are Evangelic or Protestants. Religion forms a big important part of the population. It’s a remote rural area and economic activity is mostly in agricultural sectors like coffee, plantations and sugar cane.
