Home of Rescued Afflicted Children is looking after 36 orphans who have arrived from different parts of Nepal. The orphanage is run very systematically by Eleven highly committed members in the management committee. It also has Four other staffs to support different activities the orphanage undertakes. The main aim of the program is to provide food, shelter and education for orphanage children. Main Activities The orphanage works by the motto – if orphaned children are kept in a homely atmosphere and given love and affection then they will become good citizen of the nation. The orphanage is dedicated to helping these children achieve a bright future for them. Volunteer tasks A Teach health and sanitation Entertain and run activities like games Help children wash their face and brush their teeth Help children in their studies Make sure they eat properly, including serving them or being with them to encourage to eat and make them feel cared and loved Prepare them for schools – including ensuring their uniforms are clean and proper Check to see if the children are clean and net at all times Some additional (extra) responsibilities: Go for sightseeing, picnic, zoo with the children Educational and cultural visits Go to the school with the children Sanitation of rooms Washing children’s clothes Teach children drawing, songs and any musical instruments Knitting and weaving torn clothes of kids Note: Outdoor extra activities must be funded by volunteers

LOGEMENT &NOURRITURE

Volunteers will stay in inside of the project with project manager’s family, sharing rooms with volunteers of other nationalities joining the same program. Lunch &dinner are provided with the children of orphanage at the residential area. Food is local style, cooked by a Nepalese family. The main types of food will be rice, lentil soup and vegetables but once a week host family will provide you meat in your lunch or dinner. For vegetarians the choice is usually limited to vegetables, lentil soup and pickle.

The ICYE programme started in Nepal in 2001. In 2004 it was renamed Nepal Volunteers and Cultural Youth Exchange Program (NVCYE-Program). The main office is in Kathmandu

Programme
The mainstay of the programme is voluntary service in urban and rural project located in the different parts of Nepal. Most volunteer placements are in teaching English, orphanages, conservation/eco-work, health care, rehabilitation and natural healing.
