AFFCAD is anon profit making Organization formed in 2009 providing assistance to children and families living with and affected by HIV/AIDS and poverty here in the slum communities of Bwaise. we serve all people regardless of age, sex, religion, background and race Main Activities · HIV/AIDS prevention care and support · Orphans, vulnerable children and youth back to school · Adolescence sexually reproductive health · Economic empowerment/poverty eradication · Safe guard and advocating for human rights · Family visits and assessments · Child profiling · Enrollment and identification of youth back to school · Assisting teachers teaching children in school · Provision o scholarship and material support for infants, children, people living with HIV/AIDS and grand mothers · Assisting local medical clinics health centers and hospitals · Working with other organizations for youth and people affected with HIV/AIDS · Children’s’ right advocacy · Career guidance · Household economic security · Vocational training · Leadership and life skills training · Recreational support activities Volunteer tasks Volunteers will help with the activities mentioned above.
Lives in host family with own room but sharing bathrooms and toilets
It is located in Lufula zone, off Kazo road Bwaise II parish, Kawempe Division, Kampala District. 8km way from Kampala
Both female and male 18yrs-30yrs Workinng hours: 8am-4pm Monday-Friday 35-40hrs per week
Uganda Volunteers for Peace (UVP) / ICYE Uganda was established in 1999. It is a non –political non-sectarian voluntary membership organization that joined the ICYE Federation in 2001. The office is located in Kampala.
Voluntary work placements are in field of social work, teaching children in school, care for needy / orphans, elderly, blind, children with HIV/AIDS and disabled.
