Brief description: ADVIT Moldova is a non-political, non-profit, non-governmental organization, started by and for young people, to involve Moldovan young people, with and without professional experience, into programmes at national and international levels in the fields of education, culture, ecology, historical heritage protection and helping disadvantaged people, by contributing to the development of a more peaceful society, to the decrease of social injustice. Main aims and Activities: Generally speaking, we identify three lines of action: – To coordinate volunteer/exchange projects and youth exchanges within the framework of EU Youth in Action Programme, FONDs, programme of the German government Weltwaertes regular programme; – To organize international youth workcamps in Moldova; – Develop non-formal education through seminars, training, study visits, workcamps, workshops. work : Volunteer tasks &Role: The volunteer will support and assist the staff in answering information inquiries by phone and e-mail; public relations, correspondence, compiling data, editing of reports etc. ,planning, preparation and carrying out of international seminars and training courses, internet research on youth and voluntary service issues, creating and updating ADVIT Homepage, gathering articles and edition of a newsletter; assistance in the development of posters and information sheets, supporting organization of the thematic meetings for international volunteers coordinated by ADVIT, general office tasks (Filing and archiving, data entry and database maintenance), any other ad-hoc tasks as determined by the staff Working hours: 4-6 hours/day
There are different types of accommodation: – Your own bedroom in the project, with access to a shared bathroom and kitchen. – Host family. – Flat out side of the project where 2-6 volunteers live together. Accomodation will depend on the availability of the places at the time of your application. Volunteers receive food allowance.
Project is situated in the suburb area of the capital of Moldova – Chisinau. Chisinau is the main administrative, economic, scientific and cultural centre of Moldova. The city has just over 700,000 inhabitants and the whole metropolitan area is roughly one million inhabitants. In terms of number of inhabitants, Chisinau is the largest city of the country. Chisinau is divided in five administrative sectors; Botanica, Buiucani, Center, Ciocana and Riscani. It is often referred to as the greenest city in Europe due to the high proportion of well maintained green spaces.
Volunteer skills: The volunteer should be creative and motivated to work in a dynamic international atmosphere. S/he should also be diligent and reliable and willing to learn local language. A good command of English as well as PC literacy (Word, Excel) are assets.Additional Info: Check list –what you need to bring with you: * Bed clothes and towels; * Warm clothes and good, waterproof shoes in case of winter; * Some information about your country: pictures, maps, books, coins, recipes, etc; * Small gifts from your country to give to people in your host project. Duration: 4 (min.) to 12 (max.) weeks. Extra fee of 400 € is for 4 weeks; each additional week is 100 €.
