Many Palawanians support themselves by working in their traditional professions of the region which are mainly fishing and farming . On this program, you will assist local villagers when they go out for fishing, repairing their fishing tools and making fish products like salted fish You will also help the villagers in the fields with: the planting of rice and vegetables, cutting of rice and vegetables and other chores related to working in the fields. The particular activities you end up carrying out will depend a lot on the weather and the season at that point in time. The program is set in the main island of Palawan, where many fisherman villages exist. You will get the chance to get close to locals and learn about their culture and established traditions. Aims &Objectives Facilitate cultural exchange between the participants and local people of Palawan, Assist the communities of Palawan in their daily practices Give you hands on insight into local lifestyle of the Palawan community. Schedule Monday to Friday Breakfast Assist the local village community with fishing, repairing fishing tools, other chores related to fishing and working in the fields/plantations, etc Lunch Assist the local village community with fishing, repairing fishing tools, other chores related to fishing and working in the fields/plantations, etc Dinner ***Exact day-to-day activities vary depending on the weather and the season.*** ***Schedule may change due to local needs, weather or other conditions***


Standard Accommodation This center houses all participants in their programs around Palawan. It is built with many natural elements and have a tropical beach look to them! You’ll be sleeping on bunk beds and we have limited laundry facilities, so expect to wash your clothes by hand, unless you’d like to use the laundry service here for a small fee. Food arrangements The food will consist mainly of local Philippine cuisine (lots of vegetables, meat, egg and rice) and will be served on site at this accommodation. 3 meals on weekdays, 2 on weekends. Facilities There are many forms of local transportation such as jeepneys, buses and vans which depart every hour to the town of Aborlan or to the next town Narra. There are ATM’s &Western Union transfers available in the town of Nara which is about 30 minutes away by car. Here, you can also find all necessary amenities.


Location Palawan is a special island dotted with fishing villages and surrounded by beautiful blue sea. The scenes contrasts perfectly with the emerald green jungled mountains which form its landscape. Our accommodation is located in Tigman Village in Aborlan District, a small and laid back area just outside of Puerto Princesa City.
