There are many people living on the Island of Palawan who don’t have the funds to upgrade their living conditions. With this project, we are trying to assist these people with their housing and help renovate, upgrade and construct communal places and institutions such as schools, healthcare centres, hospitals, community centres and so on. In this project, you will work alongside local Palawan people and this will give them a unique insight into the lifestyle and culture of the population of this beautiful island. Moreover, you will join other participants from all over the world to jointly work on these construction efforts. The main construction and renovation activities will consist of painting, building walls, renovating furniture, gardening and so on. Construction experience is not required, anybody can join and give a helping hand to the local people of Palawan! Aims &Objectives: Assist the locals of Palawan with construction and renovation efforts in an organized team, Create cultural exchange opportunities through our efforts with the locals, Give you some practical experience in light renovation work. – Schedule : Monday to Friday :Breakfast, Assist the local village community with construction and renovation efforts, Lunch, Assist the local village community with construction and renovation efforts, Dinner. ***Schedule may change due to weather or local conditions***


Standard Accommodation : This center houses all participants in their programs around Palawan. It is built with many natural elements and have a tropical beach look to them! You’ll be sleeping on bunk beds and we have limited laundry facilities, so expect to wash your clothes by hand, unless you’d like to use the laundry service here for a small fee. — Food arrangements : The food will consist mainly of local Philippine cuisine (lots of vegetables, meat, egg and rice) and will be served on site at this accommodation. 3 meals on weekdays, 2 on weekends. Facilities : There are many forms of local transportation such as jeepneys, buses and vans which depart every hour to the town of Aborlan or to the next town Narra. There are ATM’s &Western Union transfers available in the town of Nara which is about 30 minutes away by car. Here, you can also find all necessary amenities.


Location Palawan is a special island dotted with fishing villages and surrounded by beautiful blue sea. The scenes contrasts perfectly with the emerald green jungled mountains which form its landscape. Our accommodation is located in Tigman Village in Aborlan District, a small and laid back area just outside of Puerto Princesa City.


Additional equipment Optional: You are more than welcome to bring teaching materials/resources for your class! Modest clothing (covering the knees and shoulders) is required for school You should wear normal shoes or sandals, no flip-flops are allowed
