Uganda Pioneers Association owns a piece of land that is approximately 10 acres at Kakunyu village, Bukomero Town Council. The place is used currently to accommodate volunteers during workcamps that are organized in the local communities of Bukomero. UPA wishes to upgrade the structures on this site and construct new ones to foster volunteer activities in the area. Through the volunteer efforts, a permanent structure was set up and it is currently used to accommodate volunteers. However, it needs renovation and due to the ever increasing number of local and international volunteers, space is at times not enough if a bigger group is to be hosted in this facility for example more than 30 volunteers yet UPA would be glad to work with such a big group on its local activities for visibility and impact creation.
