Sangiran Museum is located approximately 15 kilometers in the north of Solo town in Central Java. It is listed in UNESCO World Heritage since7 December 1996 (http://whc.unesco.org/en/list/593). The main threat of this world heritage site is the illegal trading of the fossils and area maintenance covering 5,600 hectares. Sangiran museum management is under the Sangiran Conservation Office (SCO) or in Indonesian is Balai Pelestarian Situs Manusia Purba (BPSMP) Sangiran. SCO encounters some issues in the local level related to the participation of local youth on world heritage preservation. As the agent of change, the local youth is expected to be aware of the issues that threatening the world heritage in their homeland. BPSMP Sangiran has been conducting counseling program for the local youth in order to raise their awareness and to encourage them to be more active in preserving the world heritage, however it was more eventual and not yet in sustainable and long term way. There is a need to establish a sustainable youth club or organization for the local youth to congregate their volunteering spirit and convert it into real action of learning, preserving and conserving Sangiran Early Man Site.
