“Divcibare” association gathers young people who love Divcibare and who volunteer to contribute in development of rural tourism of this region. This is a young NGO, but its members have a very rich experience in organizing and participating in workcamps. They want to give better recognition to and boost tourism of Divcibare, the place of extraordinary beauty but not nearly known and visited by tourists. We organize workcamps with the aim to promote touristic potential of Divcibare and Maljen mountains.
The volunteers will take part in various activities aimed at improving the environment of Divcibare as well as developing new tourist facilities: marking of hiking trails and preparing camping grounds for the guests of the non-profit music festival which is going to be held in the last days of the workcamp. Before the festival, the volunteers will design, build and set recycling bins. During the festival volunteers will do waste sorting.
in a house, with real beds, but they should bring their sleeping bag. Water, electricity, toilets and showers will be available as well as a place for keeping valuable things and preparing food. Volunteers will cook meals by themselves, with the food provided by the organiser, so to experience different cuisines and try out their favourite home recipes!
Divcibare is a famous touristic destination near the town of Valjevo in Western Serbia, on the Maljen Mountain. It is located 38km south of Valjevo and 107km from Belgrade. Divcibare is at 980m of altitude. See: http://www.divcibare.org.rs/en/ Excursions will be organized in a way so the volunteers will have an opportunity to meet Western Serbia from a point of view of the locals. Volunteers can spend their free time hiking and cycling. They will enjoy the daily summer life of the local community and know the authentic way of life of generations of people who live on the mountain slopes of Maljen. A meeting with scientists from the nearby Research Center "Petnica" will be organized, as well as several workshops in cooperation with partner organizations.
