We are a Public School (includes primary and middle school) – "I.C. Anzio IV "that works with children from 3 to 13 years old carrying out an experimental project named" The School in the Rabbit’s wood” experiencing the different recreational and learning activities in the woods. In 2016, a first international workcamp successfully joined us and this year we want to make it again!

The work will be partly animation or workshops with children, partly dedicated to the construction of an area that will be used for the activities with children (a wooden porch, a tree house, a sandbox, a hut) and cleaning green areas of “Gallinara Park” where we are hosted for the implementation of this project. The Park is about 90 hectares near the beach, where volunteers can go after 16.00 or on weekends. Location: a pine forest / forest that reaches the sea from inside S.I.C. (Protected under the name "Tor Caldara"). Days: Monday to Friday. Hours: 10.00 to 16.00 with 1 hour break for lunch The three types of work (Work with kids – Renovation -Construction) can alternate during the day based on a timetable organized with volunteers.

The volunteers will stay in the campsite in the same Gallinara park and will sleep in tents (they will have to bring their sleeping bags). They will have access to toilets, showers and camp beds. Also they will have access to the camp kitchen where they can prepare simple dinners. Volunteers will be able to use the bicycles with which they will be able to move from the place where they will sleep in the park where they will work (which will not be distant). They will also be able to use them for leisure time. Lunch from Monday to Friday will be organized by the school, while dinner will be prepared by volunteers and sometimes by project partners. It will be possible to have vegetarian or gluten free lunches, but we will need to know it before your arrival to arrange it.

Anzio is a delightful seaside town about 55 km in the south of Rome with a long last history from the ancient Roman time until the last century and still today we can admire its remains. There is a marina and fishermen deck from which it is possible to reach the island of Ponza, 2 hours from Naples. Rome can be easily reached by 1 hour by train.

Being open minded, positive attitude, ready to interact with kids and other people of different cultural background, willing to share own experiences, flexible to live in simple living conditions, flexible to eat local food. We suggest the volunteers to bring with them beach equipping, comfortable wearing and something to put on for the eventually colder evenings.
