PARTENAIRE

THE GREEN LION

TRAVAIL

Through participating in this social project, you will make a difference to the local community by supporting local families and children, and providing them with better living conditions. You will work alongside a local coordinator who provides guidance and training alongside local families and other participants. The project involves hard physical and manual labour, as you will be laying bricks, doing carpentry, painting, laying tiles, and landscaping/gardening. The other side of this project involves a more artistic and relaxed environment, where participants are in charge of renovating and creating drawings and painting in several kindergartens as well as primary schools around Lovina. This activity is fun, and we support initiative and creativeness during the process.

LOGEMENT &NOURRITURE

About the Accommodation You will be accommodated in one of our houses in the village of Tukadmunga. Located on the street leading to the beach 5 minute by walk. Village life is quintessentially local and you will get a good chance to see typical Balinese life – roosters crowing and all! For couples or those wanting more privacy, there are upgrade accommodation options available for an additional cost per week. Please contact us in advance to check for the possibility for that program period. F ood Arrangements Indonesian food is tasty and diverse and you can expect to experience a myriad of flavors and meals during their stay. Typical dishes included mie goreng (fried noodles and vegetables), nasi goreng (fried rice and vegetables) or gado gado (mixed vegetables with a satay sauce). For those who do not eat meat, Indonesian cooking uses a lot of tofu and tempeh (soy beans), we also provide for some of western dishes. Breakfasts are varied and include pancakes, fresh fruit, toast etc.

SITUATION

Lovina is a relatively new name coined in the 1950s by the late king of Buleleng (Buleleng Regency) Anak Agung Panji Tisna, with a good eye for future tourism-based development. It started with small lodge built on his own land and named Lovina. After going through struggle of ups and downs, finally the community accepted the presence of Lovina. Nowadays the name Lovina is used for the stretch of seven traditional villages, which all slightly merge into one over ten kilometers off the main road which hugs the north coast to the west of Singaraja: Temukus, Kalibukbuk, Anturan, Pemaron, Tukad Mungga, Banyualit and Kaliasem. Kalibukbuk is the main hub of this area and is often thought of "Lovina town centre".
