Start your road trip from Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia. Then you will continue your journey to Perak the old tin mining city with many heritage buildings left behind by British. Followed by Penang Island a UNESCO site and last stop Langkawi Island northern Malaysia. Kuala Lumpur a city of extremes: transformed from a tiny town into mega-capitalist, malls-a-plenty and hotter than a spicy Laksa (noodle in curry)! The diverse terrain offers many of ways to keep cool within tranquil lush rain forests, urban parks and precipitous mountains. Foodies unite – this city also touches the culinary heavens. Perak, a town full of history was once the important centre for tin mining in Malaysia is famous with a temple set in a huge cave in the limestone outcrops. A castle or ruined mansion located in Perak was used as a setting in the 1999 film Anna and the King. Perak also entices visitors with its scrumptious cuisines. You will stop over in Penang Island, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. The island embraces modernity while retaining its traditions and old world charm being reflected in its harmonious multiracial populace and well-preserved heritage buildings which led to being granted as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. Langkawi, officially known as the Jewel of Kedah (Malay: Langkawi Permata Kedah) is an archipelago of 104 islands in the Andaman Sea, some 30 km off the mainland coast of northwestern Malaysia. The islands are a part of the state of Kedah, which is adjacent to the Thai border.
