The Legal Research &Resource Development Centre is a non-governmental, non profit organisation. The organisation was established in 1990 under Nigerian laws for the Ppomotion and respect of human lives and responsibilities through education. The centre focuses on women, young girls and children’s issues. It also recognises the importance of education as an essential tool for development and empowerment believing that only a concerned and truly educated population can provide a true guarantee of liberty. The main activities are organising seminars, workshops and counselling. Volunteer tasks : Give talk shows on human rights, women empowerment and youth. Volunteers should be ready to go to schools to participate fully in workshops and seminars. Help at the library. Volunteers will work Mondays to Saturdays (8 hrs per day).
Host family, sharing a room with a member of the family. Breakfast and supper provided by the family. Lunch at work.
– Experience in human right issues and women empowerment. – Ability to organise seminars and workshops. – Volunteers should have an interest and basic awareness of some of above mentioned issues. What to bring: Mosquito net and repellent, anti malaria drugs, torchlight.
